Week 9 - Action

We started filming this week and it's all coming together. We met at Knobby's and put a significant dent in our list of shots we're going to need. I really enjoyed the process of finding suitable shots and trying different angles to give ourselves options for the edit. There were even a few opportunities to use our environment to create a reoccurring theme and add a lot of production value with out having any additional planning or spending money.

I did end up upgrading my phone for this film. I was planning on doing it for months, just waiting for the right phone/deal and I recently made the switch. It's a world of difference from the phone I used on my 30 second film. I even feel like I could have gotten more out of the phone if I had taken more time to look into advanced features but I think we have some great footage to work with.

I know we were told to avoid using the zoom function but I feel like it worked great for a locked off shot that we managed to get, in fact I think it was the shot of the day. We literally framed the action perfectly and I can't wait to see how it looks in the edit.

I finished our animated logo we are going to use for our title sequence. We decided on the name 'Burnt Toast' for our production company.

I used photoshop to animate and my toaster to make the sound effect.

Next week we plan on starting the edit to just get what we have onto a timeline and get the rest of our shots. I'm also taking on our themed credits which I going to be a lot of work but I think it's going to look great if it all goes according to plan. Looking forward to posting the results.
